DIY Paper Flowers That Last Forever!

I absolutely love flowers. They’re a classic gift — stunning, delicate, and full of meaning. But let’s be real… fresh bouquets don’t last long and can get expensive.

So here’s a magical solution: make your own flowers out of toilet paper! It might sound odd, but trust me — the result is stunning, and it’s such a relaxing craft. Plus, you can personalize them with your favorite colors and use them for so many creative projects!

You’ll need:

  • Toilet paper
  • One toilet paper roll
  • Markers in any color(s) you like
  • Water
  • White glue

Steps:

1. Cut out the petals

Use the cardboard roll to trace petal shapes onto the paper and cut them out. Stack a few layers to speed up the process!

2. Color each petal with markers

Draw some lines or scribbles on the petals with your markers — no need to be precise. The colors will blend beautifully in the next step. Want intense colors? Use more ink. For a lighter look, use less.

3. Dip the petals in water

Carefully dip each petal into water. They might wrinkle — don’t worry! Let them dry naturally and only smooth them out once they’re fully dry to avoid tearing.

4. Build the flower

Use the cardboard roll as a base. Once your petals are dry, glue the first one to the top of the roll, folding it over the edge. Keep adding petals, slightly overlapping them, and glue halfway down to create that floral shape.

5. Let it dry & unmold

After it’s dry, remove the roll, arrange the petals, and voilà — your paper flower is ready!

Ways to use your handmade paper flowers:

  • Make a colorful bouquet
  • Decorate a box lid
  • Add them to a birthday card
  • Use them in other creative DIYs

This DIY is a fun, cozy project — perfect for relaxing afternoons. Want them to last even longer? Spray them with a clear varnish!
