Amortentia Potion DIY — For True Potterheads!
One thing you might not know about me is that I’m a HUGE Harry Potter fan (shout-out to all my fellow Potterheads!). I’m a proud Gryffindor, and my favorite character is Hermione. I love exploring the magical world of Harry Potter — there are so many fascinating details that go far beyond the main story. If you’re interested, I’d be happy to talk more about the Wizarding World in a future post. But today, I’ll show you how to make Amortentia, a powerful love potion straight out of the books!
You’ll need:
- A small bottle (preferably heart-shaped)
- Water
- Pink food coloring
- Pearl glitter
- Amortentia label
- Jute twine
- Wax
1. Tint the water pink
The signature color of the Amortentia potion is pink. Start by tinting your water with a few drops of pink food coloring and filling your bottle. In the Harry Potter films, Amortentia is kept in a heart-shaped bottle — if you can find one, it adds an extra magical touch! But of course, feel free to use any small bottle you have.
2. Add the pearl glitter
You can use regular glitter too, but pearl glitter gives the potion a mystical, dreamy effect. I used white/silver pearl glitter for that enchanting shimmer.
3. Seal the bottle
Before closing the bottle, I recommend adding some glue around the lid to prevent any leaks.
4. Decorate your potion!
Time to get creative! I wrapped jute twine around the neck of the bottle, added a cute Amortentia label I found online, and melted a bit of wax on top of the lid to make it look even more magical. I also used my custom wax seal with a "J" to show which witch brewed this potion! You can even add a charm — a small heart pendant would look absolutely perfect.
5. Shake your potion!
When you shake it, the pearl glitter swirls around like magic — it really looks like the potion is alive! Now you can proudly display your Amortentia on your potion shelf. Just be careful… don’t let anyone drink it! Unless, of course, you’re ready to have someone fall madly in love with you forever.
I love making Harry Potter DIYs, and this is just the first of many more to come! Don’t miss them — I promise they’ll be just as adorable as this potion.
